On this episode, I talked with Courtney Hunter, author, dancer and production company owner.
Courtney is a serial creator with experience in the fashion industry and with live performance.Courtney began producing contemporary dance and burlesque performances under her production company Stolen Fire Collective, aptly named after Prometheus the fire-stealing god.
Sentience, her debut Science Fiction novel, is a written extension of a contemporary dance piece that was produced for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in 2017 based on artificial intelligence. In her free time, she records a podcast called The Sentience Podcast, which started as a behind the scenes look at the making of her novel and has evolved into an auditory hub for all things science fiction, creative process, true crime, and the occult.
She is creative, honest, and intelligent, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share her story and mission.
In this episode, we talk about...
• following her desire to tell stories from dancing to writing
• her book, Sentience, and how it came to be
• What world build is and how to develop characters for your book
• Writing your own permission slips in life and who signs it
• How your perspective adds value
• Deciding you are enough
